POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER WHILE COLLECTING ₦10M RANSOM IN OYO
Security operatives in Oyo have arrested a suspected kidnapper allegedly caught while attempting to collect a ₦10 million ransom from relatives of an abducted victim.
According to reports, the suspect was apprehended during a coordinated operation carried out by security personnel after intelligence gathering and surveillance around the ransom exchange location.
Authorities said the operation was launched following complaints from the victim’s family and efforts to track those behind the abduction.
The suspect was reportedly arrested at the point of collecting the ransom payment, while investigations continue to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged kidnapping network.
Security sources noted that efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe recovery of victims linked to the case and to dismantle criminal groups operating within the area.
