The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a suspected cultist in Imo State after recovering a pistol and a live cartridge from him.

Police authorities said the suspect was apprehended during a routine security patrol carried out by officers in the area as part of ongoing efforts to curb cult-related activities and violent crime.

During the operation, officers reportedly discovered a locally made pistol and a live round of ammunition in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody for further questioning while the recovered items were secured as evidence.

Police officials said investigations are ongoing to determine the suspect’s alleged involvement in cult activities and whether he is connected to any criminal group operating within the state.

The command reiterated its commitment to maintaining security and urged residents to continue providing useful information to law enforcement agencies.
