POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED BOKO HARAM MEMBERS IN ADAMAWA
The police in Adamawa State have arrested several individuals suspected to be members of the terrorist group Boko Haram during a security operation in the state.
The suspects were reportedly apprehended following intelligence reports that indicated their involvement in activities linked to the extremist group.
Security sources said the operation was carried out by a joint team of police operatives and other security personnel who had been monitoring the movement of suspected militants in the area.
Authorities disclosed that items believed to be linked to insurgent operations were recovered during the arrests, although investigations are still ongoing.
The suspects are currently being interrogated to determine the extent of their involvement with the group and whether they have connections with other terrorist cells operating in the region.
Adamawa State, located in Nigeria’s North-East, has previously experienced attacks linked to insurgents operating around the wider Lake Chad region.
Police authorities have reassured residents that security operations will continue in order to prevent terrorist activities and maintain peace in the state.
