A social media post has led to the arrest of a suspected bag snatcher in Adamawa State.

The incident came to light after one Jennifer Emmanuel took to her Facebook account to raise an alarm about a tricycle operator who allegedly made away with her purse.

In her post, she wrote: “If you see any Keke man with this plate number, he is a criminal. He snatched my purse containing over ₦100,000 and fled. Fortunately, I was able to capture his plate number. Please help me.”

Though the tricycle was registered in Mubi, northern Adamawa, it was being used for commercial operations in Girei, near Yola.

Following the viral post, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID) swung into action and apprehended the suspect.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
