The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M,” during a stop-and-search operation in Mushin, Lagos State.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the suspect was intercepted after officers noticed him acting suspiciously while carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag.

According to the police, operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team from Mushin Division stopped him around 10:00 p.m. on March 5 along the LUTH Road axis.

A search of the bag allegedly led to the recovery of a locally made pistol.

Other items reportedly recovered from the suspect include a black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.

Police said preliminary investigations suggest the suspect had been involved in criminal activities in the area and was allegedly responsible for disturbances within the community.

The suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue, with efforts ongoing to apprehend other members of the suspected criminal group.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive policing and ensuring the safety of residents across Lagos State.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
