POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED TRUCK HIJACKERS IN OYO

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a syndicate allegedly involved in the hijacking of trucks and other criminal activities in the state.

The suspects were apprehended following an intelligence-led operation carried out by police operatives investigating reports of truck hijacking in Oyo and neighbouring areas.

According to the police, the suspects were allegedly part of a criminal network involved in intercepting trucks and taking control of vehicles transporting goods.

The operation followed information gathered by security personnel, which reportedly led investigators to the suspects and their alleged hideout.

The police said the four suspects were taken into custody and are assisting investigators with information that could help uncover other members of the syndicate.

Authorities said investigations were still ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ alleged activities and determine whether they were connected to other truck hijacking incidents.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting motorists, transport operators and businesses from criminal attacks.

Police authorities also urged transporters and members of the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information about suspicious activities to security agencies.

The arrests form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks and improve security along major roads in Oyo State.
