POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS WITH FAKE $1,600 IN DELTA STATE
The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected fraudsters found in possession of counterfeit foreign currency allegedly intended for criminal activities.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended during a routine operation after officers received intelligence reports about their activities in the area. Upon search, the suspects were reportedly found with fake U.S. dollar notes amounting to $1,600.
Security officials said the suspects are believed to be part of a wider network involved in financial scams and counterfeit currency circulation within the state. Investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the group and determine the extent of their operations.
The police described the arrest as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on fraud, cybercrime, and related offences that undermine economic stability and public trust.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious financial transactions or individuals involved in illegal money dealings.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Delta State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that it will continue to intensify operations against criminal activities across the state.
