Oyo State Command apprehends 45-year-old suspect operating an unlicensed medical facility in Ibadan, uncovering a seven-year illegal practice targeting vulnerable patients seeking fertility treatments

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Adeniyi Benjamin, for allegedly posing as a medical doctor and operating an illegal fertility clinic within the Olodo area of Ibadan.

The suspect was apprehended by operatives attached to the command monitoring unit at a facility operating under the business name "Life Is Good Hospital," following intelligence reports regarding suspicious medical activities.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, law enforcement officers caught the suspect red-handed while he was actively attending to patients and administering unauthorized fertility-related therapies.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the suspect operated the quack medical establishment for approximately seven years without any formal medical qualifications, professional certification, or legal license to practice.

Authorities recovered a range of medical gear and diagnostic items from the premises, including quantitative magnetic resonance body analyzers, weighing scales, stethoscopes, specimen bottles, and large quantities of assorted drugs.

The state police command has urged members of the public to exercise caution and thoroughly verify the credentials and registration status of medical practitioners before patronizing private health facilities, particularly for sensitive healthcare needs.

The suspect remains in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of comprehensive investigations into the full scope of the illegal operations.
