POLICE ARREST 184 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN DELTA RAID
In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 184 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to a statement released by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the suspects were apprehended on Sunday, July 21, during a joint operation between police officers from the Ekpan Division and the Nigerian Army.
The raid, which took place at Post Housing Estate, was based on credible intelligence linking the location to online fraud and possible terrorism financing activities.
The coordinated operation led to the arrest of Kelvin Odini, aged 33, alongside 183 others found allegedly engaging in various internet-related crimes.

1 iPad
1 table phone
9 laptop chargers
2 Wi-Fi routers
“All suspects and recovered items are now in custody as investigations continue,” SP Edafe said. The police also assured that efforts are underway to uncover the full scale of the cybercrime ring and track down any accomplices still at large.
This latest operation highlights the growing collaboration between security agencies in tackling internet fraud and related crimes across the country.
