Police authorities in Lagos have arrested 15 individuals accused of obstructing traffic along the busy Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway.

The suspects were reportedly apprehended during a police operation aimed at clearing illegal roadblocks and addressing activities that disrupt traffic flow along the major highway.

According to officials, the individuals allegedly blocked sections of the road while engaging in unauthorised activities that caused serious traffic congestion and inconvenience to motorists.

The police said such acts not only disrupt transportation but also pose safety risks to road users.

Authorities warned that anyone found deliberately blocking public roads or causing disturbances on highways would face prosecution in accordance with the law.

Motorists and residents were encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain order on major roads across the state.

The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring free movement of traffic and protecting public infrastructure in Lagos.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
