The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 10 persons in connection with violence recorded during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State.

The arrests followed clashes and disturbances that reportedly broke out during parts of the primary election process, leading to tension among party members and supporters.

Police authorities said the suspects were apprehended for alleged involvement in acts capable of disrupting public peace, including violence, intimidation, and disorderly conduct during the exercise.

Security operatives were deployed to several locations across the state to maintain order and prevent the situation from escalating further.

According to the police, investigations are ongoing to determine the level of involvement of those arrested, while additional suspects linked to the unrest may also be tracked down.

The command reiterated its commitment to ensuring peaceful political activities and warned individuals against using violence or thuggery during elections and party processes.

The APC primaries in Lagos have attracted significant political attention ahead of the 2027 general elections, with intense competition among aspirants across different constituencies.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
