POCO LEE’S TEAM CALLS FOR CALM AMID UK COURT CASE

The management of Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has appealed for restraint over negative narratives surrounding his ongoing legal case in the United Kingdom. In a statement issued on Wednesday by his manager, Faleye “Dee-Y” Adedoyin, the management also expressed appreciation to Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile and others for their support during the legal proceedings.

Adedoyin described Zlatan and the other supporters as extremely helpful throughout the matter, saying their involvement and efforts had been important in moving things forward. The management said it valued their continued support and dedication while appealing to members of the public to refrain from spreading negative narratives about the case.

The statement came after social commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, made comments about Poco Lee’s trip to the UK and the circumstances surrounding his court case. VeryDarkMan questioned reports that the dancer travelled to Britain for a Davido show, claiming instead that he went for a Zlatan show. He also questioned why people were defending Poco Lee while the matter remained before the court and urged that the dancer be allowed to face the legal process.

Poco Lee was granted bail on September 11 ahead of his scheduled appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15. However, the plea and trial preparation hearing was adjourned to February 8, 2027, after the charge sheet was reportedly unavailable and Poco Lee did not appear in court. The trial was subsequently scheduled for March 8, 2027.

Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, comprising attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the allegations and has not been convicted of any offence. His management had previously urged the public and media to exercise restraint, stressing that allegations should not be treated as proof of guilt and that the case should be determined through the appropriate legal process.
