POCO LEE SET FOR UK COURT HEARING AS RELEASE RUMOURS CIRCULATE
Popular Nigerian dancer and hypeman, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, widely known as Poco Lee, is expected to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026, as proceedings continue over serious sexual offence allegations against him. The court has officially confirmed that the case is listed for a plea and trial preparation hearing, putting to rest earlier uncertainty over whether the dancer would actually appear before the court on the date being circulated.
The confirmation comes amid reports and social media rumours suggesting that Poco Lee may have been released from custody. However, available information from the court and previous reports indicates that he has been held on remand in the United Kingdom while awaiting the next stage of the proceedings. The court confirmed the September 15 listing but said the exact time and courtroom details would only be made available shortly before the hearing.
Poco Lee has been charged with attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration, according to information provided by Snaresbrook Crown Court. A reporting restriction has also been placed on the case to protect the identity of the complainant. The allegations remain before the court, and Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence, meaning the case must still go through the full legal process before any determination of guilt or innocence is made.
Reports about his detention began circulating in August after Poco Lee travelled to the United Kingdom for the Davido and Friends event at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14. Benjamin Kuti, also known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, had earlier said the dancer was on remand and was due to appear in court. Poco Lee’s management and legal team have meanwhile urged the public and media to avoid speculation and allow the legal process to take its course.
The September 15 hearing is expected to be an important stage in the case as the court considers the plea and prepares for the next steps in the proceedings. The development has attracted significant attention among Nigerian entertainers and fans, but authorities and Poco Lee’s representatives have stressed the importance of respecting the legal process. Until the court reaches a decision, the allegations against the dancer remain allegations and should not be treated as a conviction.
