PLUMPTRE REVEALS WINNING FORMULA FOR SUPER FALCONS AT WAFCON 2024
Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, has emphasized the importance of staying focused and approaching the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) one game at a time.
Plumptre cautioned against fixating on winning the team's 10th WAFCON title, stressing that the players should remain grounded and concentrated on each match.
The Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia) star expressed confidence in the squad's capabilities, saying, “I try not to dwell too much on the future. My focus is on the present—taking it one game at a time and believing we can win every match we play.”
This tournament marks Plumptre’s second WAFCON appearance, following her debut in Morocco three years ago, where the Super Falcons finished fourth.
Justine Madugu’s team will kick off their 2024 WAFCON campaign against Tunisia later today (Sunday).
