The Plateau State Police Command has dismantled a notorious armed robbery and kidnapping syndicate that had been terrorizing residents of Bassa Local Government Area.

Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, who paraded the suspects in Jos on Tuesday, said the breakthrough followed credible intelligence and swift police action.

According to him, three residents of the Kishika area in Binchin Village had raised an alarm after being attacked on July 27, 2025. The victims were returning from Bukuru Cattle Market when armed hoodlums ambushed them, carting away a total of ₦1.9 million — proceeds from the sale of three cows — along with their phones, knives, and walking sticks.

Detectives immediately swung into action and arrested three suspects: Jafaru Sale, Abdulsalam Adam, and Mamuda Musa. The men confessed to carrying out several robberies in Bassa and Jengre communities.

In a separate operation in Langtang South, police also recovered a locally fabricated rifle from the home of a suspected kidnap kingpin, who escaped before he could be apprehended. The CP assured that efforts are ongoing to track him down.

Adesina commended his officers for their commitment and urged the public to continue providing useful information to help curb crime across the state.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
