The Plateau State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas following renewed attacks and killings in parts of the state.

The curfew took effect on Monday, September 21, 2026, and restricts movement between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily until further notice. The government said the measure was aimed at maintaining public order, protecting lives and giving security agencies an opportunity to stabilise the affected areas.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, urged residents of the affected LGAs to comply with the directive and plan their commercial, agricultural and personal activities around the restricted hours.

Security operatives have been directed to enforce the curfew across the three LGAs. The government also announced an immediate ban on the use of motorcycles within the affected areas.

The curfew follows a series of recent attacks in parts of Plateau State. Reports indicate that at least nine people were killed in separate incidents across Barkin Ladi, Riyom and neighbouring communities between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The state government said the restrictions would remain in place until further notice as security agencies work to restore stability in the affected communities.
