PLATEAU GOVERNOR SEEKS END TO NORTH-CENTRAL INSECURITY

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has called for stronger efforts to end insecurity in the North-Central region and restore peace to communities affected by violence.

The governor said the persistent security challenges in the region had continued to threaten lives, property and economic activities.

Mutfwang urged the Federal Government, security agencies and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and adopt more effective measures to address attacks and criminal activities.

He stressed the need for improved intelligence gathering and information sharing among security agencies to enable authorities to respond quickly to emerging threats.

The governor also called for greater cooperation between security personnel and local communities, noting that residents could provide valuable information to help prevent attacks.

He said restoring peace was essential for farmers, businesses and other residents whose livelihoods had been affected by insecurity.

Mutfwang further urged political and community leaders to support initiatives aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and preventing further violence.

The call comes amid continuing security concerns across parts of the North-Central, where communities have faced attacks, displacement and disruptions to economic activities.

The governor maintained that security should remain a priority for governments at all levels and called for sustained operations against criminal groups.

He expressed hope that stronger coordination among stakeholders would help restore confidence among residents and allow affected communities to return to normal activities.

Mutfwang said the government would continue working with relevant authorities to support efforts aimed at securing Plateau State and the wider North-Central region.
