Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has explained why he changed the date on which he celebrates his birthday to November 30. The music star disclosed that the adjustment was connected to his desire to celebrate his birthday together with his late mother, who also shared the same birth date.

Okoye made the disclosure while reflecting on his personal life and his relationship with his late mother. According to him, changing his birthday celebration to November 30 was a deliberate decision aimed at honouring her memory and creating a special connection between their birthdays.

The singer revealed that his mother’s birthday was November 30, making the date particularly significant to him. He said celebrating on the same day allows him to remember and honour her, even though she is no longer alive.

Peter Okoye is one half of the famous Nigerian music duo P-Square, which he formed with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy. The brothers enjoyed widespread success with several hit songs before pursuing separate careers following their split.

Since beginning his solo career, Peter has continued to release music and perform under the name Mr P. His decision to associate his birthday celebrations with November 30 has now provided another personal connection to his late mother and the memories they shared.
