Tensions are rising between former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju over alleged defamatory social media posts.

Obi’s legal team, EJESIMEN & CO Madiba Chambers, SAN, claimed that Adeyanju made derogatory remarks about the former governor, including a post on August 21, alleging that Obi misappropriated state funds for family business ventures. The notice demanded an unreserved public apology and retraction from Adeyanju.

Adeyanju, however, is standing his ground. In a post on his official Facebook page, he wrote:

“I can’t wait to meet him in court finally. A fraud parading himself as a messiah.”

The lawyer has been a vocal critic of Obi, repeatedly questioning his political credibility and suggesting that the former governor may never become Nigeria’s President. Adeyanju has also clashed with Obi’s supporters, popularly known as Obidients, over posts deemed unfavorable to Obi.

This latest confrontation highlights the growing feud between a prominent political figure and one of Nigeria’s outspoken civil rights advocates, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly publicized legal showdown.
