PENCOM SETS DEADLINE FOR MDAS TO SUBMIT RETIREES’ RECORDS
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has directed Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to submit the details of eligible retirees before a specified deadline to facilitate the timely processing of pension benefits.
PenCom said the move is aimed at ensuring that retiring public servants receive their entitlements without unnecessary delays and that pension records remain accurate and up to date.
According to the commission, affected MDAs are required to provide relevant documentation and service records of employees due for retirement within the stipulated period.
The agency warned that failure to comply with the directive could hinder the processing of retirement benefits and create administrative challenges for retirees.
PenCom also emphasized the importance of proper record management, noting that accurate data is essential for the efficient administration of the Contributory Pension Scheme.
The commission urged MDAs to work closely with pension desk officers and relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth submission and verification of retirees’ information.
Industry experts say timely documentation is critical to preventing delays in pension payments and improving the welfare of retired public servants.
PenCom reiterated its commitment to safeguarding pension assets and ensuring that retirees receive their benefits promptly in line with existing regulations.
