PELLER GOT NO APPROVAL FOR PALACE VISIT, BENIN COUNCIL INSISTS

The Benin Traditional Council has insisted that popular streamer Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller, did not receive approval to visit the palace of the Oba of Benin.

In a statement, the council’s secretary, Frank Irabor, clarified that submitting a request letter, even if acknowledged, does not amount to official approval.

He stressed that such procedures are standard administrative practice and do not imply consent from the palace or the monarch.

According to the council, Peller’s visit was unauthorised, describing it as a violation of established traditions and protocols guiding access to the royal palace.

Irabor urged Peller and his management to publicly confirm whether they were granted any formal written approval and whether their request disclosed intentions to visit any of the palace queens.

The council added that the matter is already undergoing internal disciplinary proceedings, and Peller has been invited to appear before the palace authorities.

It reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the customs and sanctity of the Benin Royal Palace, warning that due process must be followed in all engagements.

The development follows earlier reports that a palace queen who allegedly facilitated the visit could face disciplinary action.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
