PDP HAS LET RIVERS PEOPLE DOWN – ANN-KIO BRIGGS
Human rights activist and member of the Rivers Elders Forum, Ann-Kio Briggs, has expressed disappointment with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing it of betraying the trust of Rivers people.
Speaking on Sunday Politics on Channels Television, Briggs lamented that despite the unwavering support the state has given the PDP since 1999, the party failed to act when it was most needed.
“As a stakeholder and elder, I feel let down by the PDP because, since 1999, we have always voted, including myself, for the PDP,” she said.
Briggs argued that the PDP’s internal divisions and power struggles weakened its ability to lead effectively, worsening the political crisis in Rivers State. She noted that the party’s negligence left residents to bear the brunt of avoidable damage.
