PDP GOVERNORS MEET IN ABUJA AHEAD OF KEY PARTY DECISIONS
As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) prepares for a major decision-making session, top party leaders gathered in Abuja on Wednesday for a closed-door strategy meeting.
The meeting, hosted by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge, brought together five serving PDP governors and several national leaders of the party. In attendance were Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).
Also present were PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and members of the Board of Trustees (BoT).
The meeting served as a prelude to the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, where major decisions are expected to be ratified—including preparations for the party’s national elective convention.
According to sources, the caucus session was aimed at fostering unity and building consensus among key stakeholders as the PDP positions itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The discussions are believed to have focused on strengthening internal party structures, finalizing plans for the upcoming convention, and reinforcing leadership cohesion within the party.
This strategic gathering is seen as part of ongoing efforts by PDP leaders to rally around a common agenda and ensure that the party remains a strong, united force in Nigeria’s political space.
