PDP CHIEFTAIN TARGETS 90% EKITI SUPPORT FOR TINUBU

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, has said he is targeting 90 per cent support for President Bola Tinubu in the state during the 2027 presidential election.

Oluyede, who was the PDP candidate in the June 2026 Ekiti governorship election, said the target would be pursued through aggressive grassroots mobilisation across the state.

He said his political structure, the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda, had been activated to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.

Oluyede urged members and supporters of the PDP, All Progressives Congress and other political groups who share his vision for Ekiti and Nigeria to join the mobilisation. He argued that Tinubu should be allowed to continue his reforms rather than having the country start over every four years.

The PDP chieftain said his team would take the campaign to communities across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards, engaging voters and explaining the reasons for supporting the President.

He also expressed readiness to work with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other stakeholders to achieve the target, describing the effort as part of a broader attempt to build cooperation across political divides.

Oluyede said his recent consultations with Tinubu and Oyebanji focused on putting the interests of Ekiti and Nigeria above party differences.

He maintained that his support for Tinubu did not mean he had abandoned the PDP, but reflected his belief that political leaders should work together where they share common interests on national development.
