PASTOR, TWO MEMBERS KIDNAPPED AT GUNPOINT, BENUE CHURCH CRIES OUT
Gunmen have kidnapped a pastor and two church members in Benue State, prompting the affected church to issue a desperate appeal for their safe release.
The incident occurred during a church service when armed attackers stormed the premises and abducted the victims at gunpoint. The church has since raised alarm, calling on security agencies and the government to intervene swiftly. “Our pastor and members are in danger. We plead for their immediate and unconditional release,” a church leader said.
Benue State Police Command confirmed the kidnapping and said investigations are underway to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victims. “We are treating this with utmost urgency and working with other security agencies,” a police spokesperson stated.
The abduction has sparked outrage in the community, with residents expressing fear over the rising wave of kidnappings in the state. Religious leaders have urged the government to strengthen security around worship centres.
