PASSENGERS INJURED AS ABUJA–KADUNA TRAIN DERAILS AFTER COLLISION
Several passengers were confirmed injured on Monday after a train traveling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed following a collision.
The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Kayode Opeifa, confirmed the incident, stating that the train encountered a problem near Asham.
He explained that no fatalities had been recorded at the time of the report. However, injured passengers were transported back to the Idu Train Station to receive necessary medical attention.
Opeifa added that the railway corporation has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
“It is confirmed that our Abuja–Kaduna train had an incident near Asham. Some passengers sustained injuries, and an investigation is currently underway to establish the exact cause,” he said.
