PARAMILITARY RECRUITMENT ENTERS FINAL PHASE AS APPLICANTS PREPARE FOR ORAL INTERVIEW

The Federal Government has announced the commencement of the final stage of the ongoing recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies, with shortlisted applicants set to proceed to oral examinations.

The exercise covers recruitment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service and Federal Fire Service.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board said applicants who applied under the graduate category would be able to check their recruitment status from Monday, August 31, to Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Candidates who applied with NCE, OND and SSCE qualifications are expected to check their status between Monday, September 7, and Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

The announcement follows the completion of the physical and medical screening stages, bringing the recruitment process closer to its conclusion after months of assessment and shortlisting.

According to the board, candidates who make the final shortlist will be required to select a convenient interview venue, date and time through the official recruitment portal.

Successful candidates are also expected to print their invitation letters and report at their selected venues in accordance with the instructions and dress code contained in the letters.

The board stressed that only applicants who are officially shortlisted for the oral examination will be allowed into the interview venues.

It further advised applicants to rely exclusively on the official recruitment portal for information concerning the exercise and warned that the board would not send recruitment notifications through email.

The CDCFIB also renewed its warning against recruitment fraud, urging applicants not to give money to individuals or groups claiming they can secure employment in any of the paramilitary agencies.

The board emphasised that the recruitment exercise is completely free and warned candidates to report anyone demanding payment for employment to the appropriate security authorities.

The development is expected to provide clarity for thousands of applicants who have been waiting for updates on the next phase of the recruitment process.

With the oral examination now scheduled, shortlisted candidates are expected to begin preparations while ensuring that they comply fully with the instructions issued by the recruitment board.

The final stage will determine candidates who progress towards eventual employment in the four paramilitary agencies, which play key roles in national security, immigration control, correctional services and fire safety.

The Federal Government has urged applicants to remain vigilant and follow only verified information as the recruitment process moves towards completion.
