KANO—A Max Air aircraft carrying 53 passengers crash-landed at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday night following a tyre burst upon landing.

The aircraft, registered as 5N-MBD, had departed from Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos and touched down in Kano at exactly 10:57 p.m. However, sources revealed that the plane’s nose landing gear tyre burst on impact, leading to the emergency landing.

Although details on possible injuries were not immediately available, emergency response teams swiftly mobilized to the scene to assess the situation and ensure passengers' safety.

Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the incident, while Max Air has yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of the malfunction.

This latest aviation scare comes as concerns over air travel safety continue to dominate discussions among industry stakeholders and passengers alike.
