P-SQUARE’S RIFT IS SPIRITUAL – BRACKET’S SMASH REVEALS
Nigerian singer Obumneme Ali, popularly known as Smash of the music duo Bracket, has weighed in on the long-standing feud between the famous twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye (P-Square).
Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast alongside his bandmate Vast, Smash revealed that he believes the issues between the brothers go beyond ordinary disagreements. According to him, the fallout is “spiritual.”
“I’m closer to Paul than Peter, but I always visit Peter’s house, and he listens to me whenever I speak with him. Unfortunately, if you ask me as someone close to them, I’ll say the problem is spiritual,” Smash said.
He also recalled a conversation with Paul, where the singer admitted that the rift with his brother Peter wasn’t normal.
“The last time I met Paul, I told him his problem with Peter wasn’t ordinary — it was spiritual — and he agreed. If you knew how close these guys were and how passionately they worked together, you’d feel really bad seeing what’s happening today,” he added.
Smash further mentioned the role of their elder brother, Jude Okoye, highlighting that all three were deeply invested in building the P-Square brand.
The P-Square split has long been one of the most talked-about breakups in Nigeria’s music industry, leaving fans yearning for the unity and musical magic the brothers once shared.
