The Nigeria Police Force has announced that the screening of shortlisted applicants for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables will begin in Oyo State on March 9.

According to the Oyo State Police Command, the exercise will run from Monday, March 9, 2026, to Friday, April 18, 2026.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.

He said the screening would take place at the Officers’ Mess within the command headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan, and applicants must appear strictly on the date and time stated on their invitation slips.

Candidates were advised to log in to the official recruitment portal to confirm their status and print the required documents before the screening date.

Applicants are expected to present documents including their invitation slip, screening forms, medical fitness certificate from a government-recognised hospital, National Identification Number printout or NIMC card, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and a certificate of origin.

The command added that applicants for specialist positions must also present trade test certificates and a completed guarantors’ form, while all credentials must be arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

Candidates are also required to appear in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings as prescribed for the exercise.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Femi Haruna, warned applicants against dealing with fraudsters, stressing that the recruitment process is free and strictly based on merit.

He assured candidates that the command had put measures in place to ensure a smooth, transparent and credible screening exercise.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
