OYO FAULTS FG’S EXCLUSION FROM STATE GOVERNMENT EVENT
The Oyo State Government has expressed displeasure over the exclusion of the Federal Government from a state event, describing the development as inappropriate and stressing the importance of cooperation between the two levels of government.
The state government said events involving significant public interest should provide room for relevant government representatives to participate, particularly where such occasions concern programmes and initiatives that affect the people of Oyo State.
Officials of the state maintained that collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments remained important to achieving meaningful development. They stressed that political differences should not prevent the two levels of government from working together in the interest of citizens.
The development has reportedly generated concerns within the state, with the Oyo Government emphasising the need for mutual respect and effective communication between federal and state authorities. The state also reiterated its commitment to maintaining a constructive relationship with the Federal Government.
The government urged stakeholders to prioritise the interests of residents and avoid actions that could create unnecessary tension between the two tiers of government.
