Oyo State Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, has commissioned a newly constructed office complex for the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area in Ibadan.

Lawal inaugurated the facility on Friday at the Egbeda Local Government Secretariat, where he also presented awards to former chairmen of the council.

Speaking at the event, the deputy governor said Egbeda was strategically positioned for development because of several major projects underway in and around the council area.

He mentioned the Ibadan Circular Road, the Air Force Base in Ajia and the Ajoda Housing Estate as projects expected to influence development in the area.

Lawal also addressed concerns over properties affected by the Circular Road project, assuring affected owners that they would be compensated. He said the government was planning the corridor with long-term development in mind to avoid unplanned settlements.

The newly commissioned office complex was constructed by the council under the leadership of its chairman, Sikiru Sanda. Sanda said the project was funded entirely through the council’s internally generated revenue.

He described the facility as part of his administration’s efforts to improve local government operations and leave lasting infrastructure for residents.

The event also featured the recognition of former Egbeda council chairmen for their contributions to the development of the local government.
