OYO ACTION ALLIANCE GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT DENIES STEPPING DOWN FOLLOWING DISPUTED PRIMARY ELECTION
Gubernatorial candidate insists on legitimacy of his mandate while dismissing rumors of withdrawal as political propaganda manufactured by factional leaders
A governorship aspirant under the Action Alliance (AA) in Oyo State has formally debunked widespread rumors claiming he stepped down from the state's gubernatorial race following contentious disputes during the party’s recent primary elections.
Addressing newsmen and party supporters at a press conference in Ibadan, the candidate declared that reports suggesting his voluntary withdrawal or collapse of his campaign structure were entirely false and fabricated to destabilize his supporters across the 33 local government areas.
The aspirant emphasized that he remains the legitimate flagbearer chosen by the authentic delegate structure of the party, pointing out that any parallel primary or alternative nomination announced by factional leaders violates established electoral guidelines and party constitutions.
He urged members of the public, electoral authorities, and the party faithful to disregard speculative reports circulating across social media platforms, reassuring them that legal and administrative measures are actively underway to protect his nomination.
Reaffirming his commitment to offering a credible alternative in the state's governance, the aspirant assured his campaign team that he remains fully engaged in the political process and will proceed with election preparations as scheduled.
