OYEBANJI SAYS GOD’S GUIDANCE DRIVES HIS LEADERSHIP OF EKITI

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has said he relies on God for guidance as he leads the state towards greater peace, prosperity and economic development.

Oyebanji stated this on Friday during the August edition of the Evening of Praise held at the Government House Grounds in Ado Ekiti, the state capital. The governor was represented at the event by his deputy, Monisade Afuye.

The governor said his administration’s vision of transforming Ekiti into a prosperous state had been guided by principles of honesty, transparency and a strong belief in divine direction.

According to him, his administration, which assumed office in 2022, has remained focused on its six-point agenda aimed at improving the lives of residents and strengthening the state’s economic prospects.

Oyebanji expressed gratitude to God for what he described as the progress recorded by his administration, saying he had remained committed to the responsibilities entrusted to him by the people of Ekiti.

He explained that the Evening of Praise was not organised simply as a social gathering, but as an opportunity for residents and government officials to seek divine direction in addressing economic hardship, poverty and other challenges confronting the state.

The governor noted that although human effort, knowledge and intelligence were necessary for effective governance, he believed that divine guidance remained essential to achieving the desired results.

He also commended members of his cabinet for supporting the administration’s decision to give prominence to faith and prayer in its leadership approach.

Oyebanji urged residents of Ado Ekiti and surrounding communities to participate in subsequent editions of the programme, stressing the importance of collective prayers for the peace and development of the state.

He said his administration would continue to work with individuals and organisations that share its development vision, while maintaining its commitment to making Ekiti more peaceful and economically prosperous.

The governor also promised to continue working with dedication and sacrifice to leave the state in a better condition than he met it.

Oyebanji maintained that Ekiti’s progress would require sustained human effort, effective partnerships and responsible leadership, alongside what he described as unwavering faith in God.

The event was attended by commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, executive secretaries, clerics and other senior government officials.
