OVER 1.9 MILLION NIGERIANS APPLY FOR NSCDC, IMMIGRATION, AND FIRE SERVICE RECRUITMENT
A total of 1,911,141 Nigerians submitted applications for the 2025 recruitment exercise by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), as confirmed when the portal officially closed on Monday, August 11.
The recruitment process experienced several technical difficulties, including portal crashes and temporary shutdowns, which affected the initial timeline. Originally slated to commence on June 26, the exercise was postponed twice—first to July 14, and then to July 21.
Due to these disruptions, the application deadline, initially set for August 4, was extended by one week to August 11.
States with the lowest number of applicants include Bayelsa (11,669), Lagos (14,216), Rivers (22,210), Ebonyi (23,601), and Delta (27,962), with a combined total of 99,658 applications.
Following the closure of the portal, the board shared updates on the next phase of the recruitment process. In a statement posted on its official social media channels, the CDCFIB expressed appreciation to applicants and confirmed that successful candidates will be contacted soon.
The board advised applicants to stay alert by checking their email inboxes, text messages, and the official recruitment portal, as well as social media accounts, for further announcements.
“Recruitment Applications Closed! The official recruitment portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board is now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity, and national pride.
“Next Step! Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly with further instructions. Please monitor your email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications. We also encourage you to regularly check the portal and social media handles for important updates,” the statement read.
