Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged residents of the state to remain committed to their faith and continue to uphold values that promote peace, unity and responsible citizenship.

The governor made the call as the state marked its 35th anniversary, using the occasion to encourage Abians to remain hopeful and steadfast despite the challenges facing the country.

Otti stressed the importance of faith in helping individuals and communities remain resilient during difficult periods. He encouraged residents to draw strength from their beliefs while contributing positively to the development of the state.

The governor also called for greater unity among Abia residents, urging them to work together in the interest of peace and progress.

He noted that the growth and development of Abia would require collective effort from government, traditional institutions, religious leaders, communities and individual citizens.

Otti encouraged residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving the state and creating better opportunities for its people. He also urged citizens to remain peaceful and law-abiding, stressing the importance of cooperation in achieving sustainable development.

The governor's message came as Abia marked another year since its creation, providing an opportunity to reflect on the state's journey and its prospects for the future.

He expressed confidence that with faith, determination and a shared commitment to development, Abia could continue to make progress and improve the quality of life of its residents.

Otti therefore urged Abians to remain steadfast, optimistic and united as the state moves forward, emphasising that peace and collective responsibility remain important to achieving its development goals.
