OSUN VIOLENCE: ADELEKE, APC TRADE BLAME AS THREE SHOT
Tension has gripped Osun State following a violent clash in which three people were reportedly shot, with Governor Ademola Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress (APC) trading blame over the incident.
The confrontation, which occurred in a yet-to-be-confirmed location, has sparked fresh political accusations between the ruling party in the state and the opposition.
Governor Adeleke’s camp accused opposition elements of being responsible for the violence, describing the incident as politically motivated and aimed at destabilising the state.
However, the APC has denied the allegations, insisting that its members were not involved and instead accusing the state government of failing to maintain adequate security and prevent rising political tensions.
Security agencies have since been deployed to restore calm in the affected area, while investigations are ongoing to determine those responsible for the shooting.
Residents have expressed concern over the growing pattern of political violence in the state, calling for restraint and stronger security intervention to prevent further escalation.
Authorities have urged political actors to avoid inflammatory statements and allow security operatives to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident.
The situation remains tense as the state government and opposition continue to exchange statements over the cause of the clash.
