OSUN POLICE NAB TWO SUSPECTS OVER N3M BURGLARY, RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS

The Osun State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with a burglary operation in which valuables estimated at about N3 million were allegedly stolen from a residence. The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Eyelade Anuoluwa and 28-year-old Abdullah Musa’m’, were apprehended following intelligence-led investigations into the incident, with the police recovering several of the items reportedly taken during the burglary.

According to the police, Anuoluwa allegedly broke into the complainant’s residence on July 26, 2026, and made away with an HP laptop, Dell laptop, iPhone 12, another Android phone, two power banks and recharge cards. The items were collectively valued at approximately N3 million. Operatives attached to the Ilesa Area Command later tracked the suspect to Ibadan, Oyo State, where he was arrested before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further questioning.

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to the burglary and provided information that helped investigators trace some of the stolen property to a receiver in Ibadan. Acting on the information, SCID operatives carried out an intelligence-driven operation that resulted in the arrest of Musa’m’. Police said the second suspect admitted receiving stolen items and was being investigated over his alleged connection to a syndicate involved in dealing in stolen property.

One of the striking details from the investigation was the alleged sale of the stolen iPhone 12 for just N25,000. Police said Musa’m’ confessed to buying the device from Anuoluwa for the amount. The investigation also led to the recovery of an HP laptop, Dell laptop, Samsung phone, mini DP charger, two power banks, an Apple iPad and a scrap phone, with the authorities continuing efforts to trace other missing items.

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Ibrahim Zungura, commended the officers involved for what he described as their diligence and intelligence-led approach. The command said investigations remain ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities, identify other individuals allegedly linked to the operation and recover additional stolen property. The suspects are expected to be charged to court after the completion of the investigation, while residents were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
