In a heartwarming gesture, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has appointed Oluwatosin Adejumo, a street puff-puff vendor, as a chef in the Government House, Osogbo.

The governor announced the appointment on his official X handle, proudly describing Adejumo as “the puff-puff seller turned Government House chef.”

Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has professional training in catering, first caught Adeleke’s attention during a recent labour rally in Osogbo. At the event, organised labour groups pledged support for the governor’s administration and endorsed his second-term bid.

During the rally, Adeleke bought Adejumo’s entire tray of puff-puff for ₦50,000 and promised to support her further. True to his word, he has now presented her with an appointment letter as one of the Government House chefs.

Beyond the job, Adeleke also granted her a scholarship up to the Master’s level, should she wish to further her studies.

“Her story is a powerful reminder that hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. My administration remains committed to identifying, recognising, and uplifting excellence wherever we find it,” the governor said.

A video shared online showed the touching moment Adeleke interacted with Adejumo at the rally — a chance meeting that has now completely transformed her life.
