OSUN AMOTEKUN ARRESTS OKADA RIDER FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING WOMAN AT GUNPOINT
The Osun State Amotekun Corps has arrested a 29-year-old commercial motorcyclist for allegedly raping a 35-year-old woman at gunpoint in Ede.
According to a statement released on Friday by the corps spokesperson, Yusuf Abass, the suspect lured the victim to his residence in the Alusekere area of Ede under the pretense of helping her find her missing ward.
However, once she arrived, he reportedly pulled out a locally made pistol and a knife, using both weapons to intimidate and sexually assault her.
The victim later reported the incident to Amotekun operatives, who quickly moved to arrest the suspect.
In a separate incident, Amotekun officers also arrested a bricklayer in Osogbo for allegedly stealing electrical wires from an uncompleted building. The suspect reportedly took advantage of his access to the site, where he was working, to commit the theft after work hours.
The Amotekun Corps has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property in Osun State, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly.
