OSIMHEN TARGETS HISTORIC EUROPEAN GOALS AS GALATASARAY FACE MONACO
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is on the verge of making history on Tuesday night when the Turkish champions face Monaco in the Champions League group stage.
Osimhen has featured in three of Galatasaray’s five Champions League matches this season, netting six goals — the highest tally in the competition so far.
The Turkish side has won every game Osimhen has played in, while losing both matches he missed due to injury.
After his brace against Bodo/Glimt, Osimhen now holds Galatasaray’s record for consecutive European matches with goals, with a streak spanning seven games.
The 26-year-old also holds the record as the Nigerian footballer with the most goals in the UEFA Champions League, surpassing Obafemi Martins.
A strong performance against Monaco could see Osimhen overtake Shabani Nonda and Milan Baros, who each have 12 European goals.
