Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has shared the latest on his injury.

The Nigerian international sustained a hamstring injury during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying playoff final against DR Congo on Sunday.

The 26-year-old had to leave the pitch in the second half, with Akor Adams coming on as his replacement.

Osimhen’s absence was felt as DR Congo gained control and ultimately defeated the Super Eagles 4-3 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

Speaking to A Spor at Istanbul Airport after the playoffs, Osimhen reassured fans, saying, “My injury is not very serious” (via Habersarikirmizi).

He is expected to recover in time to feature for Galatasaray against Gençlerbirliği in Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash.

Osimhen joined the Turkish champions on a permanent deal from Napoli during last summer’s transfer window.
