OSHIOMHOLE URGES YOUTHS TO EMBRACE VOCATIONAL SKILLS

Adams Oshiomhole has encouraged young Nigerians to embrace vocational training as a practical way to earn a living and become financially independent.

His message highlights the value of learning a trade. For young people seeking work or an additional source of income, practical skills can open doors to employment and small business ownership.

Oshiomhole has previously supported skills training for women and youths in Edo North. In a 2024 programme, 272 participants received training in making household products, including soap and detergent. Speaking through a representative, he encouraged beneficiaries to use their training to improve their livelihoods.

Vocational skills can also complement formal education. A graduate who learns tailoring, catering, electrical installation or another trade gains an additional route into employment or business.

However, learning a skill is only the beginning. Regular practice, reliable tools, good customer service and careful money management are essential to turning that knowledge into a steady income.

Access to equipment, mentorship and start-up support can also help trainees put their abilities to work.
