ORGANIC FARM PLANS GLOBAL EXPANSION

All Organic Farms is expanding its agricultural and food-processing operations in Nigeria as it targets consumers in the domestic, African and international markets.

The company is developing an integrated value chain covering farming, partnerships with other farmers, food processing, packaging and distribution. Its processing facility is expected to begin operations in January 2027.

The founder, Osita Oparaugo, said the company was established to show that commercial farming could be profitable while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Oparaugo, a Nigerian lawyer, technology entrepreneur and farmer, said the company plans to move beyond producing raw crops by processing them into finished food products for local and international consumers.

The company currently cultivates plantain, yam, soursop, avocado, lemon and bitter kola. Its initial products are expected to include plantain flour, yam flour and herbal teas made from selected leaves.

The planned processing facility will help the company increase value addition and reduce its reliance on selling agricultural produce in its raw form.

All Organic Farms also plans to introduce an outgrower scheme that will allow participating farmers to cultivate selected crops according to its organic farming guidelines.

Farmers involved in the programme are expected to receive seedlings and technical support covering soil management, cultivation, crop protection and post-harvest handling.

The company said the initiative would increase the supply of raw materials for its processing operations while creating additional income opportunities for farmers and rural communities.

Oparaugo said the company intends to build significant production capacity within its first three years before gradually expanding to meet growing demand for African organic food products.
