OPPOSITION SPREADING FAKE NEWS TO DESTABILISE GOVERNMENT— FANI-KAYODE
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has accused opposition figures of spreading misinformation to destabilise the government ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, he alleged that the opposition was deliberately using fake news to create tension within the ruling All Progressives Congress and weaken confidence in its electoral chances.
Fani-Kayode said the strategy was aimed at causing division within the party and planting doubt among its members about their ability to win future elections.
His remarks follow his earlier denial of reports claiming that his ambassadorial nomination was rejected by the German government over alleged controversial statements.
He also dismissed what he described as false claims about political alignments, including allegations involving state governors working with opposition figures.
The former minister warned that the political environment is becoming increasingly heated and urged supporters of Bola Tinubu to remain united and prepared for a tough contest in 2027.
Despite the tensions, he expressed confidence that the ruling party would retain power, insisting that efforts to destabilise the government would not succeed.
Fani-Kayode further called for greater mobilisation within the party, particularly encouraging the inclusion of young people in political activities as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.
