ONUACHU BEATS OSIMHEN TO WIN TURKISH SüPER LIG GOLDEN BOOT
Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has emerged as the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot winner for the 2025/2026 season after finishing as the league’s highest scorer ahead of fellow Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Onuachu capped off an impressive campaign with 22 league goals, securing the top scorer award after maintaining consistent form throughout the season.
The Nigeria Football Federation congratulated the striker in a post shared on X on Monday, commending his performances during the campaign.
“Paul Onuachu was a force to reckon with, scoring 22 goals in the Süper Lig this season,” the NFF stated.
The former Genk forward’s clinical finishing and consistency in crucial matches helped him maintain his advantage in the scoring charts during the closing stages of the season.
İstanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov finished closely behind Onuachu after scoring about 21 league goals, while Fenerbahçe forward Anderson Talisca ended the campaign with 19 goals.
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, who arrived in Turkey as one of the league’s biggest signings, finished the season with 15 league goals, placing him outside the top three scorers despite delivering several influential performances.
Osimhen’s teammate, Mauro Icardi, also featured among the top scorers in the division after netting 14 goals for Galatasaray.
Although the race for the Golden Boot remained competitive for most of the season, Onuachu eventually pulled clear to secure the award and finish as the Süper Lig’s leading scorer.
