ONLY 217,784 METERS INSTALLED UNDER $500M POWER PROJECT – REPORT

A recent report has revealed that only 217,784 electricity meters have been installed under a major $500 million power sector project aimed at improving metering and reducing estimated billing across Nigeria.

The disclosure has sparked concerns among stakeholders regarding the slow pace of implementation despite the substantial funding allocated for the initiative. The project was designed to address the long-standing issue of inadequate metering, which has contributed to revenue losses and customer dissatisfaction in the electricity distribution sector.
