ONE RESCUED AS GUNMEN ABDUCT THREE NASARAWA VARSITY STUDENTS

Security operatives in Nasarawa State have rescued one student abducted by gunmen, while three others remain in captivity after an attack on the Nasarawa State University.

The incident occurred when armed men invaded a student hostel, shooting sporadically before whisking away the victims. One of the abducted students was later rescued during a joint operation by security agencies.

The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the rescue and said efforts are ongoing to free the remaining students. “We are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the other victims,” a police spokesperson stated.

University authorities have appealed for calm and urged security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the kidnappers.

The abduction has sparked fear among students and parents, with calls for improved security around tertiary institutions in the state.
