ONE KILLED, SEVEN INJURED IN JIGAWA BUILDING COLLAPSE
The Kirikasamma Local Government Council in Jigawa State has confirmed that one person died while seven others sustained injuries following a building collapse in the area.
The Council’s Information Officer, Musa Muhammad, said in a statement on Sunday that the incident was caused by heavy rainfall in Kirikasamma and surrounding communities.
According to him, the collapse occurred at midnight on Friday in Kabak village. He explained that seven people were injured, with five admitted to the hospital, while two others were treated and discharged.
Muhammad added that the Council Chairman, Muhammad Maji, visited the scene to commiserate with the affected families. He also announced financial support of N500,000 to cover the victims’ medical expenses and N100,000 as emergency assistance to the bereaved family.
