ONDO DISSOLVES PARASTATAL BOARDS AS TENURES END
The Ondo State Government has announced the immediate dissolution of the boards of several parastatals and commissions following the expiration of their tenure.
The decision was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, and shared via the state government’s official X handle.
According to the statement, the dissolution affects key agencies, including the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Local Government Service Commission, the Muslim Welfare Board, and the Christian Welfare Board. Education Secretaries across all 18 local government areas were also affected.
The government directed all outgoing chairmen, commissioners, board members, and education secretaries to immediately hand over to the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices to ensure continuity of governance.
It stated that the action became necessary following the expiration of the statutory tenure of the affected boards, adding that the transition should be carried out smoothly in line with established administrative procedures.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service, acknowledging their contributions to governance and development during their time in office.
The state government is expected to announce new appointments to the affected agencies in due course as part of ongoing administrative restructuring.
